Membership
Who can be a member?
Anyone can be a member! We especially encourage PLWHA to join the Consortium. The Consortium membership is comprised of persons from various professional fields, varied racial, cultural, ethnic, socioecomic, gender, and sexually diverse backgrounds. Members should be chosen to reflect geographic distribution among the six (6) county service delivery areas (if possible). Anyone who attends two (2) meetings within a quarter, requests membership and completes an application can be nominated for membership.
Membership Responsibilities
- Represent self-defined populations or agencies
- Participate in meetings, committees, Needs Assessment, Evaluation and other work of the Consortium as time and talent allow.
- Adhere to Consortium by-laws, policies, and procedures.
- Formally join the Consortium by completing an application and other required forms.
The Consortium membership shall be responsible for the administration of services authorized under Part B of the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act.
- Assess the outpatient health and support service needs of the local HIV population.
- Develop and execute a plan to improve the availability, accessibility and appropriateness of services.
- Promote awareness and coordination of service needs and resources among service providers.
- Promote awareness of services among consumers and potential consumers.
- Set spending guidelines and monitor use of Part B emergency financial assistance funds.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the planning process and outcomes.
- Fulfill all other mandates from ODH and HRSA as they arise.
Does the Consortium have Committees?
Yes. There are five subcommittees they are the Executive, Services, Evaluation/Membership, Finance and Grievance. Ad Hoc Committees are formed to address specific needs.
